[Abstract]:
On November 5, Ma Yun, chairman of the board of directors of Alibaba Group, said at the Parallel Forum of "Trade and Innovation" of the First China International Import Exposition that today is a milestone for China and the world, marking the historic transformation of China from export to import, which is a major challenge for China and a major opportunity for the world. Most importantly, China is a country that can face all kinds of challenges. When we accept challenges and change ourselves, opportunities come.

Ma Yun said that over the past four decades, China's attention to manufacturing and exports has helped 800 million people lift themselves out of poverty and changed the fate of millions of people in the world. Because of China, the world has a new business ecosystem. Now China's announcement that it wants to become a big importer is a major challenge for China and a major opportunity for the world.            "Why is it a challenge? Exporters have been accustomed to it for the past 40 years and now have to turn to imports. Many of them, including manufacturing, will not like it. We will import 30 trillion US dollars of goods and 10 trillion US dollars of services in the future, which will completely change China's commercial infrastructure and ecosystem. It will bring pain to many enterprises, but it will also bring good opportunities to consumers.

For today's trade protectionism, Ma Yun's view is clear: trade war is the most foolish thing in the world, and trade should play a role in promoting peace and exchanges.

Ma Yun said that the trade deficit actually created great value for the United States. Trump said that the United States has the best economy and the lowest unemployment rate today because of the trade deficit, which allows the United States to focus on the development of services, thereby creating more jobs.            Ma Yun finally pointed out that technological progress can solve trade frictions. Because of technology, the form of trade will change. There will be no trade deficit in the next 20 years, and no one can stop free trade. Technology will also lead to more inclusive global trade. "We want 80% of enterprises to be able to trade across borders. We want most young people to be able to buy, sell, pay, transport and play globally through mobile phones. This is the future of the world." He said.

Alibaba, which has long regarded globalization as its three major strategies, has put forward the goal of serving 2 billion consumers, 10 million small and medium-sized enterprises and 72-hour global goals, and is committed to building a new free and inclusive global trading platform for young people and small businesses. Over the past four years, Tianmao International alone has introduced 39,000 overseas brands from 75 countries and nearly 19,000 categories into the Chinese market, of which more than 80% are the first to enter China.
