People's Daily News, October 25, British Broadcasting and Television Corporation reported that artistic works created by artificial intelligence were successfully auctioned at a high price of $432,000 (about 3 million RMB).

The painting, entitled The Portrait of Edmund Bellamy, was created by an artistic group in Paris called Obvious, using artificial intelligence technology. When it was displayed in the London exhibition hall of Christie's Auction House, it was estimated to cost between $7,000 and $10,000, and the final price was several times higher than expected.

It is reported that the work is made of algorithms and 15,000 portrait data from the 14th to 20th centuries. In the process of rendering, the algorithm can centralize the comparison between the new work and the existing work data until the difference between the two can not be distinguished.

This portrait is the first AI art successfully traded at a large auction, and the sale has attracted wide attention from all walks of life. Richard Lloyd, an expert at Christie's who organized the auction, said that AI was only one of several technologies that would have an impact on the future art market, but it was not clear what the impact was.
