The Beijing National Technology Transfer Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in March 2003. It was established with the approval of the former State Economic and Trade Commission, the Ministry of Education and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was jointly established by the Beijing Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Zhongguancun Science Park Management Committee, specializing in technology transfer. The high-tech service organization that transforms scientific and technological achievements is the first batch of national technology transfer demonstration institutions recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology. The center was upgraded to the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Beijing Municipal Government in June 2011.
The Beijing Center insisted on actively exploring new mechanisms, new models and new channels for technology transfer of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which effectively promoted exchanges and cooperation between the system units of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and various Beijing Municipal Committees (offices, bureaus) and regions across the country. The network system of technology transfer service platform of the Chinese Academy of Sciences based in Beijing and serving the whole country has promoted a large number of outstanding scientific research achievements of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to be transferred to the local area, resulting in significant economic and social benefits, and made in the areas of regional industrial upgrading and enterprise innovation capability improvement.
